Well... looks like we are moving to Michigan.

Oh well... we gave it our all, but it looks like we will have to wait at least a couple more years before we can buy a house in Canada.

Thank you still, to all of you who wrote letters for me. You guys are the best.

I have no idea yet how I'm going to get into the U.S. and be able to stay there for that long... and eventually get all of my stuff out of storage... I guess we'll have to look into getting me some kind of multi-year visa.

We'll figure it all out.

*flattens ears*

When would you be moving to the US?
I know it sucks that you cant get your own place in Canada yet, but look at it this way, it just gives you more time to ferret money away into a savings account so you can eventually put a down payment on a house.

and speaking of exactly the opposite of saving money, were you going to make it to any conventions this year?

If you happen to find yourself in the US long about the beginning august, feel free to come up to Maine and attend our weekend long BBQ and Campout. I know Maine is a long way from Michigan, and it's a bit of a financial (and time) stretch for you, but I wanted toss the invitation out there anyway. You know, in unlikely event the universe transpires against you yet again and you should happen to find yourself in Maine on that exact weekend, at least you would have some place to go. ^_^

Anyway, I hope things get better for you and Tim sometime soon. It seems like things just don't want to go your way.
oh... I also hope to see you two sometime... it's been YEARS since the last time we had the change to hang out.

Thanks for the invitation, Giz! We will actually be heading over to Germany for EF in August... so that will be quite a bit of money that we'll end up spending as it is. But I appreciate the invite, anyway. :) We should be at AC next year - not this year because we don't have the time for it, with looking for a place to live and all. But next year, definitely, and we'll have some production stuff to show off at our Dealer's Table at that point. ;)

Miss hanging out with ya! Hope you've been doing well. *hug*

Blarg x.o; Moving anywhere, especially to another country, is a tedious process. Have you both by any chance already found work in MI? The job market isn't exactly the greatest right now.

Good luck and take care at either rate, I'm sure it's going to be busy.

Ugh,. i'm sorry to hear that plans aren't falling int place for you :(

as for getting into the US; Tim's still a US citizen, right? and you two are legally married? you should be able to apply for a spouse visa which will get you residency and a US work permit with relatively little trouble.
I'm sure either Cass or I still has a few useful information sources on the matter if you'd like them. :)

Yep, Tim's a US. citizen, but he has Canadian landed immigrant status. We have been legally married for a year now. Spousal visa, eh? Could you guys maybe see what information you can find regarding that? We are also asking Tim's parents if they may be able to track down an immigration lawyer, once we're actually in Michigan. I was thinking of applying for a 2-year visitor visa, but if I can apply for a spousal visa, that would be even better. :) Thank you for the advice! *hugs to both you and Cass*

The K-3 visa is probably the one you'll want to look at.

http://visajourney.com/ is possibly the most useful site on US visa's around.

But it'll be worth skimming through these too:

I check with Cass if she has any other useful info too :)

Or you may be eligible to enter the Visa lottery

At least Michigan is one of the most beautiful areas in the US.
I wish you both all the best.

It is. Manistee, MI is a very beautiful area, and I do like it there. It's just the hassle of getting me into the U.S. that I am not looking forward to. The American Government is not too keen on letting people from other countries int theirs. O___o

We will be seeing you soon! Just 4 more weeks! :)
