I so totally have mixed feelings about this one... but here's a clip I found on You Tube - Into The Woods, the scene with Red Riding Hood and the Wolf. The ANATOMICALLY CORRECT Wolf! I thought I was seeing things, until I read the comments. :-P

Man... I haven't seen that play since Grade School. I'd like to see it again one of these days.

I had to do a double take when I first seen the clip. *snickers* like the comments said it doesn't take much to get the undertone of the general message is trying to get across.

I might not have even noticed it if I weren't told to look for it... and I definatly wouldn't have noticed watching this in a theater being preformed live. I was expecting like a big fleshy pink thng hanging down, but it's all realatively the same color as the costume so it blends in a lot. I can see how people not knowing it was "correct" would do a double take

I totally did a double-take. O.o I was like, "...what the hell is...? Naw... they wouldn't have done that for a theatre production... would they??" Then I read the comments, and it ws indeed confirmed. :-P

Interesting effect - good makeup job. But the implications are even more scary that the wolf has a penis... too pedo-like. O_x Creepy...

Though I hate the classical depictions of wolves as man-eaters (drives me NUTS)... This is quite amusing. Nice to see they gave ol' wolfy-boy proper equipment for a change.... X3

Wonder if there are any sexual undertones to all that... *snicker*

What I find most disturbing is that it is an anthropomorphically anatomically correct wolf. Why did it have a long hanging dong instead of a sheath? Just odd...

The reviews I've read of it state a theory that they gave the wolf a penis to humanize him. Not that a Human in a Wolf costume isn't anthropomorphic enough. ;) Interesting article though:
