Holy Crap, Art Update!!!

Yes. I have some art updatage. Though with all of the recent stuff that has been cluttering up my life and eating away at my time, I am rather behind in commissions, which I’m sure is of no surprise to anyone who knows me. O_x Though I am still shooting for getting most of my AC batch done by the end of November. Probably not all of the full-character pieces will be done, but I am gunning for it.

Also, to anyone who has e-mailed me recently asking about new commission requests, I have decided that I will ONLY be accepting commissions once a year from now on, during Anthrocon, because art is just something that I don’t seem to have a whole lot of time for anymore. And now with my plans to move to BC by next year, it’s just not something that will be on my mind, other than learning animation.

With that said, I figured that I would at least post up the large sized badges that I have inked. I will try to get these all colored and mailed out by early November. Still waiting to hear back from Jaql, Kody Wolf, Jungrey, and Wesha regarding your badge descriptions. I will be sending out e-mails today regarding other folks’ commission progress.

Also, on a separate note, the Dog Legislation Council of Canada has made it’s $100, 000 goal for the Legal Challenge’s fees, though about $40,000 of that had to be borrowed in order to make the due date. A HUGE thank you to all of you who donated to the cause! We’re not quite done yet, though. ;) We will still have to pay off what we borrowed, on top of the $50,000 fees for the new motion, and so many different fundraisers are being planned.

I had thought of organizing an Art Portfolio to help contribute to the fight against Breed Specific Legislation. The theme would be to choose a “bad” or misunderstood breed of dog, (Pit Bulls, Rotties, Dobes, Mastiffs, German Shepherds, Akitas, etc.) and draw them in a fun and positive light! Be as creative as you can be, I just ask that the artwork do not exceed a PG-13 rating. Once an art piece is done, stick it up on Furbid, or any other auction venue, and then donate the final bid amount to the Legal Challenge.

I was also thinking of having all of the artwork compiled onto CDs (which I will be paying for) and then donating them to any local DLCC booths to sell. Most of these vendors sell T-shirts, hats and mugs… I think that the unique idea of an Art CD might be a big hit amongst dog lovers out there. :) I would also make all of the art images available online, to the contributing Artists only, so that they may make Art CDs of their own to sell at conventions and whatnot.

I am hoping to start organizing this Portfolio by the beginning of December, in time for Christmas. How many Artists out there think that this is a good idea, and would be interested/willing to donate a bit of time and work to this Portfolio project? Spread the word to anyone you think might be interested. I think that it would be a lot of fun! ^_^
