If you were closer to where Tim is, I could snag her across the border to a friend of mine ... I'm only a few hours south of BC. *sigh*

Damn continent for being so big ...

Honestly, if it was a serious, good home, I'm sure that we could arrange flying her over. I think it might have to be a strong possibility, since everyone in Ontario seems to be trying to get rid of these dogs because of the ban... she would probably need to be shipped out of the province anyway. I would be willing to house her temporarily, pay for shots and spaying/microchipping, and get her started on training if a potential owner would pay for shipping. I'm sure shipping a dog by plane can't cost anymore than a one-way trip for a person. Possibly much less, as animals are treated as cargo. O.o

Well, I'll ask my friends the next time I see them. They have a decently big place, several unused kennels (all their dogs -- a population that varies as they take in strays and find homes -- generally have the run of the place). The last time I was there on July 4th, they had two pitbull pups. I'll be housesitting for them actually starting the middle of next month ..... so looking forward to it, even with 2 hour commutes each way to work, its worth it ... just something about being surrounded by so many dogs, and all of 'em love me to pieces ... just about literally as the Dane, alpha of the dogs, likes to pounce me along with the rest of them. :p

I found I was pretty miserable, though, being out of driving range when I had my beloved German Shepherd boarded after I lost a place to stay in which I could have a companion. She passed away there from lymphoma and I couldn't even get there in time to say goodbye. :/
