*nods* That was the main point of a post I made only a few days ago. I know that Pitts can cause a lot of damage, but banning them won't stop attacks, and people will only use replacement dogs. And if that ends up being the case, as you said, soon other breeds will be banned. It's the wrong way to approach this, in my own opinion anyway.
I never used to be into the breed, but after getting Zena, I've learned it's not so much the breed, but the dog itself. I still can't help but feel badly for Zena, and many of the other good "pitbull" type dogs out there. Zena's a cross breed, (we think with either Shiba Inu, or Akita) and not an intimidating dog at all!
Even owners of other crossbreed dogs, that just happen to look like pits even if they're not so, are worried. They have to treat their animals in the same manner, just in case they get in trouble. The whole thing just seems so crazy to me. O.o
The individual dog, or, I guess, the owner.
I've seen, and saw just the other day, the kind of dog owner that you would just want to yank the leash out of their hand and scold them saying they shouldn't have a dog.
If I were treated like that, I would have attacked some mofos
