Art Portfolio Project - Who's Interested?

Thank you, everyone who has shown such a great interest in this project! I am amazed at how many folks wanted to take on two, or even three different breeds! As I said originally, I wanted to avoid repeating breeds because I want to make sure that this portfolio stayed pretty diverse. However, with the list of breeds quickly being eaten up, I've decided to give everyone the option of picking a second (or even third) breed if they really want to. I would still prefer to see no more than two of the same breed drawn however (let's keep this as mixed up as we can). Also, if anyone knows of a restricted breed that they would like to do, that is not mentioned on this list, feel free to let me know!

Just to recap, the theme of this portfolio is to choose a discriminated, or misunderstood "tough" breed of dog, and draw it in a fun and positive manner. You may be as creative as you like. I will get a LJ Community started for this project, with all of the details and rules, by sometime Friday. Biggest rule is that all artwork not go above a PG rating, (as this is going out to the general public, so it must stay family friendly, please!) and the due date is August 1st, in time for the 2007 My Dog Votes Candle Light Vigil Against Breed Bans.

THIS IS A FUNDRAISER PORTFOLIO PROJECT, and so I urge all artists who plan on selling their original works to please consider donating the money they make to the Banned Aid Coalition. I will put a mailing address up on the LJ Community site for folks to send donations to.

ALL ARTISTS WILL HAVE ACCESS TO ALL OF THE FINISHED HIGH-RES WORKS, so you will be responsible for saving all of the files yourself, so that you can make your own CDs to sell at conventions or auctions.

Lastly, spread the word! If you know of anyone who would like to be on this portfolio, bring them aboard! This is supposed to be fun. ;) Let's see what kind of creative stuff you guys can come up with! :)

Breeds will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis. Below is a list of suggested “tough” or discriminated against dog breeds (ALL of these breeds have either had restrictions put on them, or have been flat-out banned in many states and provinces around the world).
