Can’t take this spinning ride no more,
And I want to get off.
Too long I’ve had to shut the door
And keep what I thought were monsters out.
When all along, the monsters were already there.
But reality has slapped me hard,
And made me see the light.
And what I once thought was a harmless fantasy,
Now is nothing but an empty void.
Too long I’ve hid behind my wall,
Peeking out from time to time.
And I wonder what I might be missing.
I used to think it protected me,
When in fact it became my own prison.
I’ve been tied down so long,
I’m almost afraid to be free.
I look behind me and I see nothing.
But over that wall…
There are things going on without me.
Do I dare take a step over it…?
