A Foreign Body Surgery would only cost 500 bucks there? Holy shit... that's a 2 to 3 grand procedure at the VEC (if you're lucky)... o__O'

That's weird that they would give him charcoal to make him puke... there are way better drugs than that to get that job done, and ones that act instantly! Normally charcoal is for toxin ingestion, not foreign bodies! Ah well... as long as it worked! x_X'

I'm with Jaxx's on that one! Charcoal is only real use is for toxin ingestion. It won't make him puke. He must have just puked on his own.

Man! Doctor Sam is really cheap on that price, so yea great price on the foreign body surgery. At lest if it's never needed. It's good to know.

*hugs* it's great he puked it up..Yay!! Go Jango!

Well, I'm not 100% sure that they used charcoal - they could have used something different for all I know. That was just what my boss mentioned right after he had swallowed it, and I have a friend who used to work at a vet who also said they used to use charcoal. I've never had to deal with a foreign body case yet, so I am totally inexperienced with that one. I'm just glad he threw it back up. O__o

And yeah, Dr. Sam's prices are VERY reasonable, but perhaps it's because most of his clients are Asian? I know that sounds really racist, but just about anything Asian in this particular area *is* really cheap...it's why I do all of my grocery shopping at the Asian markets now.

It's one of the reasons I don't want to switch vets, (Tor's been wanting to switch to a closer vet in Surrey) because I have a year-long relationship with my current vet, he's really nice, knows his stuff, and doesn't cost me an arm and a leg!
