Hey! It's been a little while, and a lot of new stuff has been happening.
So, just two more months of trying to figure out how I'm going to pay the last of my rent for the old place (it's a lease agreement I can't really get out of...). This would normally not be a problem, except that last week my hours suddenly got severely cut, to *barely* part-time, which has made me have to do a bit of recalculating of my finances. I really couldn't have cared less if my hours had been cut in August, because by then I'd be completely into the new place, and paying much, MUCH less rent in comparison. But oh well... I'll figure something out. I'm just glad I didn't get completely laid off, which has been the case for a few people that I know (damn economy).
I think I'm going to start actively trying to pursue getting into Security work, as a K9 handler. I recently saw an ad from Interglobe Patrol, looking for K9 handlers to do mobile and static security work. I sent them an e-mail, but the post was made a few weeks ago, so who knows if the position has already been taken or not. They didn't mention anything about wanting people with previous Security experience. They just mentioned that they will train you on their dogs, or your own if it passes their assessment.
In checking out their website, they sound like they have a neat Security K9 training school that I may look into attending, if I can get the money saved up. I know that Obedience Plus does something similar, so that's another option I can look into as well (this place used to provide services for them before my boss bought the business last fall). Doggie Daycare is nice and all, but I don't want to be doing this forever, especially when I can be making $15/hour training dogs for actual work.
Things at home are doing much better. Most of my belongings are all moved in. Just a couple more trips in the van, and I should have all of my stuff moved out.
We had a house meeting a couple of weeks ago to discuss the matter of our Furry household being used as a rec center (it's not fun having 15 random people come over on a Sunday, or weekday night, leaving a mess and making lots of noise until 3-4am, when the residents actually have to work and need to get their rest). So, we've all decided that people will now be coming over on an invite or notice policy only from now on. This makes me extremely happy, and keeps the house much tidier overall.
Oh yes, for those of you who don't know, I have a new BF. Tor and I have kind of developed a thing, seeing as, well... we live together and share a room and all. It kind of just happened. These things usually do, when you're not looking to get into another relationship... and then, poof. Magic. :3 Anyway, I'm very happy with my Puppy Collie. Things are very relaxed and open, no pressure. We're taking off this Sunday, going to the Island to visit Torwin's Grandparents. I've never been to Vancouver Island before, so I'm looking forward to it. :3
Back to work! *scampers*
