Way Beyond Fear Biting...
Cornering or trying to trap a scared, angry dog, who is in a lot of pain... is a very, very bad idea.

Things will be okay. Time will heal all things. And sometimes stress makes everyone a little wonky. Just give things time.

I have no treats... nothing you may want, for me to lay before you to bring you near. ...but I care... and I am here... and I am sorry.

I recommend tranquilizer darts for such predicaments.

when stuff gets bad for me, I just retreat into my work. that could be a sign of a deeper problem though

How well I know, unfortunately ... for me, I was trying to free a client dog who had tried to climb a gate, only to get his paw trapped in the butterfly latch. He bit me when I reached to try and free him. :/

Unfortunately I'm a big wimp with that stuff, I went into shock though the bite wasn't severe and almost blacked out. :/

Ouchies! When I worked in a wild animal rehab station I had to deal with animals in pain, a *lot*. Got bit, too, but few others were willing to take the chance. But I can't stand seeing an animal in pain. I'm so sorry for you. I hope it all worked out.
